chris borelli:

I've been a freelance/permalance programmer/developer in the greater New York City area since 1995, working with a variety of web companies, corporate communications agencies, and advertising agencies, from small to large, with teams of all levels of technical expertise, and with end-clients in many business sectors.

While most of my work has been done in my own studio, I have also worked on-site at clients' offices as well. I find that telecommuting is more efficient, particularly when deadlines are tight, and that the occasional on-site meeting adds value in communication and team bonding. I'm available for on-site meetings or work in the New York area (including northern New Jersey) and for telecommuting just about anywhere.

In working with so many teams of different sizes and technical expertise, as well as with varying degrees of formal production process experience (including agile/scrum, even before it was fashionable), I've performed many tasks beyond those of the programmer role. I've written copy, designed UX (user experience), designed or assisted in IA (information architecture), performed graphics production in Photoshop, edited and processed audio in SoundEdit16 and SoundForge, edited and processed video in Premiere, instructed others regarding asset requirements for the particular software being developed, and even performed project management tasks as needed when the PM (project manager) has lacked technical knowledge or experience in the production process. I always enjoy learning new things, as well as teaching others – sometimes simultaneously.

Currently I...

and have provided Director development services for many years.
